PUBLIC RETREAT RADIO – Wednesdays from 17:00-18:00

Join us for a series of thought-provoking radio shows that explore the intricate relationship between city, sound, and public space. As our urban environments become increasingly dense, the spaces that once offered solace are rapidly disappearing. How does this impact our experience of the city? How are we – humans and more-than-humans alike – truly doing in these bustling urban landscapes?

Through situated radio and soundworks, containing field recordings, poems, micro narratives, speculative future forecasts, bird monologues, + more, PUBLIC RETREAT reflects on these pressing questions. Radio, as a format, transcends physical boundaries, allowing the distribution of ideas through the cityscape much like a modern-day speakers corner. By moving away from visual stimuli, the show delves into how sound and text can conjure speculative or realistic, idealistic or claustrophobic mental images and imaginaries.

Tune in to our weekly episodes, reimagining how we inhabit our cities and turning them into potential retreats from the overwhelming pace of modern life.

Welcome, dear listener!
